Arabic is a language family, not one travel desk.
Egyptian, Levantine, Yemeni, Iraqi, Gulf, and Maghrebi callers use different language patterns and need different routes, documents, baggage knowledge, and community context.
Elora / Research & opportunity
Millions of trips home. Dozens of communities. An opportunity to build the next generation of specialist travel desks, one language at a time.

$12–22B
14.516 million trips × an assumed $800–$1,500 airfare gives $11.6–$21.8 billion, rounded above. This is a broad U.S. overseas VFR proxy, not a measured native-language ethnic-travel market, agency sales, Elora revenue or a forecast.
Source: NTTO 2024 outbound report| Category share | Passenger trips / year | Gross airfare sales / year |
|---|---|---|
| 1% | ~145,000 | $116–218M |
| 3% | ~435,000 | $348–653M |
| 5% | ~726,000 | $581M–1.09B |
Gross airfare sales are not agency profit or Elora's revenue. The category includes travelers who do not need native-language service and excludes U.S. trips to Canada and Mexico. A serviceable market must be sized from actual language demand, routes, fare rights and partner reach.
The central insight
Translation creates access. Market knowledge creates trust. Fare access creates a commercial reason to book.
Egyptian, Levantine, Yemeni, Iraqi, Gulf, and Maghrebi callers use different language patterns and need different routes, documents, baggage knowledge, and community context.
An Ecuador traveler and a Dominican traveler may share Spanish while facing different route networks, airport choices, trip frequency, documents, family patterns, and fare competition.
Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Urdu, Hindi, and English can each matter. The agency's real calls choose the first language.
Amharic, Oromo, Tigrinya, Somali, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Twi, Wolof, Swahili, French, Arabic, English, and creoles represent distinct communities and travel workflows.
The opportunity atlas
This is the research landscape used for agency discovery. It is deliberately specific and deliberately wider than the first pilot.
Commercial pattern Large diaspora populations, major VFR flows, regional-language trust, elders and family groups, long journeys, baggage, and secondary-city continuation.
18 mapped lanesCommercial pattern Dialect-level trust, complex VFR and religious travel, indirect routings, family urgency, document sensitivity, long stays, and historic consolidator-fare value.
13 mapped lanesCommercial pattern Language diversity, expensive and indirect travel, large family groups, weddings and funerals, heavy baggage, destination-country continuation, and under-digitized specialist agencies.
13 mapped lanesCommercial pattern Huge shared-language reach with country-specific route economics, high-frequency VFR, baggage, remittance and cargo overlap, disruptions, documents, and trusted neighborhood distribution.
15 mapped lanesCommercial pattern Long-standing community agencies, older and family travelers, language continuity, documents, shipping and remittance adjacency, island or secondary-city connections, and disruption support.

Research coverage is not a blanket readiness claim. Every live package still requires language evaluation, trusted country knowledge, authorized fare access, agency rules, verified booking and payment connections, and a named agency service owner.
A measurable audience
Selected 2024 U.S. Census estimates for people age five and older show both language-at-home audience scale and the share reporting that they speak English less than "very well." These are distribution and service signals, not forecasts of travelers, bookings, or revenue.

From opportunity to product
A market list is not the product. Elora becomes valuable when each layer is grounded, permissioned, and connected to an agency workflow.
Natural discovery, broad search, session memory, constraint reasoning, recommendation, exact reprice, secure continuation, and structured exception handling.
Speech quality, vocabulary, code-switching, names, numbers, airport codes, cultural register, and repeatable human evaluation.
Routes, seasonality, bags, documents, transit, elders, children, holidays, arrival logistics, local continuation, and sourced practical guidance.
Authorized public and private content, markup and display rules, booking and ticketing authority, service policies, exception paths, CRM records, and measurement.

Three ways to monetize the same intelligence
A traveler speaks with Elora directly. Elora learns the trip, searches, recommends, reprices, and can complete the normal booking path when approved provider connections are enabled.
Value: qualified consumer demand and bookingsA downstream travel agent asks for fare, rule, workflow, or case help in the agent's preferred language. Elora answers from authorized sources, executes allowed workflows, and routes only the exceptions.
Value: faster support and more network productionAn agency offers its own branded Elora number, messaging entry, or web experience. The agency keeps the customer, brand, pricing rules, economics, and service relationship while Elora handles the routine path.
Value: language reach without staffing every deskThe foundation for your desk
We connect both to your business, then validate the language and workflow before opening the desk.

The next move
The first commercial lane should combine real phone demand, painful language coverage, valuable fare access, route concentration, and one committed operator.
